Something Sensational To Read On The Train

On a lighter note, I have been riding on the nostalgia train again, and here’s a small sample of some stuff from my formative years.  The John Kongos songs were covered by other bands, such as Happy Mondays, but as is often the case the original versions are the best.  Let’s Clean Up the Ghetto is one of my all time favourites.  I really love all of the early Roxy Music, but I think ‘A Song for Europe’ is the song that really does it for me, although ‘In Every Dream Home A Heartache’ comes a close second.

The Crystal Waters track of course was released a couple of decades after the others.  I’ve included it in this selection because this was played in the club on the night that Christie and I first met.  Can’t get any more nostalgic than that!
