Feeling slightly accomplished today.  Not that I have actually achieved anything as such, but rather that I have found out how to make configuration changes to make my working life easier.

For the past few years (basically since the RP began to have a major effect) I have had to set the display on my PC to be white on black, to make it easier for me to read.  This I did from the Control Panel, which meant that I could (in most cases) read stuff in Word, Excel, Outlook and so on with relative ease.  Sometimes I need to change the font colour and / or background, but that’s easily done.  On the other hand Adobe Acrobat has proved problematic, as I hadn’t been able to find out how to make the necessary configuration changes – until now.

Well now I know how to, having found a user guide for disabled users on Adobe’s website.  I had to copy the user guide into Word to be able to read it, but having done so I was able to change the display characteristics to be white text on black background.  This will make such a big difference when I get back to work, because I have really been struggling recently with anything in Acrobat, and setting the magnification to over 300% before I can read something in black on white.  Navigating a document with a magnification that high is a real pain.  What a relief.
